The Harvard Medical Center was originally incorporated on Sept. 26, 1956. Its chief objective was to help raise funds for Harvard Medical School and associated teaching hospital purposes. With the successful completion of this fundraising effort, the original purpose of the Center was achieved and it was dissolved on August 30, 1971. The Center was reactivated in 1974 by Robert H.
